The Beginning of Your Child's Learning Journey

In JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit, the Shire is a region largely removed from the hustle, bustle, and conflict of the rest of Middle Earth. The land is lush, green, and idyllic, dearly loved by its inhabitants (the Hobbits). From this peaceful land of joyful gardens and cozy homes, the life-changing journeys of Frodo and Bilbo Baggins begin.

We offer this year at Lorien Wood as the start of a journey. Certainly, just like Frodo the Hobbit, the students will face challenges as they grow from children to adults. We know, however, at the age of four, children should face the joys and challenges of each new day in the safety and peace of a place just like the Shire.

The Shire provides a beautiful foundation for Kindergarten at Lorien Wood!

We invite your child to join us as we explore God’s world together in this play-based year of joyful discovery. We will adventure chronologically through the Bible, while exploring letters and sounds, basic math concepts, life skills, classical music, art, and the outdoors.
