A Noble Beginning: Lorien Wood’s First Graduating Class

A Noble Beginning: Lorien Wood’s First Graduating Class

This spring, Lorien Wood reaches a historic milestone: the graduation of our very first high school class. While small in number, this class represents something immense—the fruit of a vision sown years ago, now coming to bloom.

Our graduate has journeyed through years of deep reading, earnest inquiry, outdoor adventures, and enduring friendships. He has grown within a community that prizes wisdom over performance, integrity over ease, and wonder over mere achievement. As the first to complete the full arc of a Lorien Wood education, he carries not only the knowledge gained, but also the legacy of having helped shape what it means to graduate from this place.

We’ve seen this inaugural graduating class offered admission to several exceptional colleges, including Grove City College, Messiah University, and Wheaton College, among others. This fall, he continues his journey at Grove City—a place where faith, intellect, and purpose are deeply woven together. It is a fitting next step for a student formed by years of thoughtful learning and faithful living.

At Lorien Wood, we speak often of “outfitting a stalwart and faithful fellowship for a noble adventure.” This graduate is the first of that fellowship to cross the threshold—and we believe he will not be the last. As he goes, he blazes a trail for future scholars, setting a precedent of courage, humility, and wholehearted pursuit.

We give thanks for this moment, and for all the moments that led to it. And we look ahead with joy to the stories that will continue to unfold—both here and far beyond.

As we look toward graduation in late May, our hearts are full—with gratitude, with pride, and with hope. We eagerly anticipate the day we gather to honor not only this remarkable young man, but also the beginning of a new tradition at Lorien Wood. His commencement is not only a personal achievement—it is a communal celebration of what has been built, what is growing, and what is yet to come.
