Current Open Position in Form Three (4th & 5th grades):

Lorien Wood is a Christ-centered school located in Vienna, Virginia. Our primary commitment as a school and community is to nurture each child’s intellect, character, faith and curiosity in a manner that aligns with God’s design.  A Biblical worldview is foundational to all we teach and we use a Biblical framework for seeing and understanding the world. Our teachers work in a collaborative environment as they create and implement units of study based on an integral curriculum. Parents are a vital part of the school, contributing in areas from office work, to lunch and recess duty, to supporting teachers both in and out of the classroom. These unique elements of our school, which are further articulated in our seven “Distinctives,” are a manifestation of our educational model.

We seek educators who have a strong faith in and love for God, are life-long learners, and have a passion for helping children explore God’s world.   Successful candidates must embrace our education model and agree wholeheartedly with Lorien Wood’s Mission, Distinctives, and Statement of Faith.  Successful  candidates will also demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, have a proven ability to build relationships with students as well as their parents, collaborate robustly and creatively with fellow faculty members, and serve as a contributing member of our school community.  A Bachelor’s degree and teacher experience is required. We are willing to look at first-year teacher candidates right out of college.
