Student life at Lorien Wood features a wide variety of opportunities for growth and exploration outside the classroom. These curriculum activities and annual events enhance the learning experience, build community amongst students, faculty and parents, and provide lasting happy memories! Some school events throughout the year include:

  • Field trips — Local learning adventures within each Form specific to their unit studies

  • Family Nights — Food, fun, and learning come together on three special nights each year

  • Unit Presentations — Faculty and student-led presentations give parents a window into student's studies

  • Drama Clubs — Each year, there are opportunities to join with faculty and other students to put on a play production, meeting and rehearsing after school hours

  • Soccer Team, the Rangers – Starting in 2018-19 school year, we are offering a boys and girls soccer team for the middle school years (6th-8th grades). Click here for more information. 

  • Buddy Books — A time when older and younger students join together during the school day to read a book

  • Family Picnic — Games and friendly competition create community bonds as we welcome new families 

  • End-of-year field trip — All Lorien Wood students visit the National Gallery

  • Service Projects — Parents and students come together to meet needs in the community and the world
