Form One: Kindergarten and First Grade
Kim Nelson joined Lorien Wood faculty in 2018 as the lead teacher for The Shire, our Junior Kindergarten program and then moved into Form 1 in 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Illinois State University. After graduation, was a nanny for several families specializing in newborn multiples. Kim has worked in the classroom for over 10 years with 3 and 4 year olds. Most recently, she has been the Bible teacher for Preschool Cubbies in the AWANA program.
Kim is married to Wayne, and they have two sons who have graduated from Lorien Wood and are in high school. She loves spending time with her family, her two cats, reading, doing puzzles, and laughing with her friends. Kim is passionate about teaching the love of Jesus to the littlest ones.
Julie Lubbe joined Lorien Wood faculty in 2015-2016 as a Form Two teacher, and shifted to Form One in 2017. She studied Elementary Education at Marymount University and has been teaching since 1996. Over her long career, Julie has taught at each elementary grade level, in both the public and Christian school settings (including Living Faith Christian Academy).
Julie has also attended Living Faith Ministry Training Center and received a Biblical Studies Diploma. She is a certified Christian Life Coach and ADD/ADHD Coach for adolescents and adults. Julie is a certified DISC consultant; otherwise known as a Certified Human Behavior Consultant. She is also an ordained pastor along with her husband Sean and has been actively involved in children’s ministry since 1996, becoming a children’s pastor in 2006.
Julie brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom. She enjoys watching children learn and thrives on making learn fun! In her free time, Julie loves spending time with her husband and two children. Sean and Julie love ministering together in their church.
